Words and Silence

One who cannot sense the depth, breadth and dimensions of words cannot fathom what silence has to offer. One who shuns silence seeks in words what words can't offer.

That is why one finds great silence in the words of mystics. Even when they convey something beyond language, they don't toss their words carelessly around. The utterances have a beauty, a poise of their own. And the silence of mystics is not a shut-off from the world. It is a clear lake, it acts like a mirror.
